That is not a substitute for this kind of recipe!)
-RMAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13900147.post-1133422211005921022005-12-01T01:30:00.000-06:002005-12-01T01:30:00.000-06:00Wicked recipe...it seems the 50's had a real pench...Wicked recipe...it seems the 50's had a real penchant for colorful, nutritionally empty, but FUN desserts. Very cute. Speaking of weird substitutes, I recall a chocolate cake that used mayonaise as the liquid portion of the recipe (preferably the cheap & nasty kind). (Has to be a real spicy ginger ale like Vernors, not a bland one like Canada Dry) Similar but different.
C. Thanks for the tip on just adding 7-up to a box mix - I have tried the pound cake from scratch with 7-up and have had mixed results. (I think it is becasue I do not have an electric mixer/blender)
D. You can toast in a dry skillet... (I toast cumin and other spices regularly)
E. There are good "old" recipes out there that use catsup to make cookies & the like.... Where would I put them all? As it is, I have too many recipes to make over 10 lifetimes! And I love coconut too.woof nannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10585916446298818033noreply@blogger.com
