Opie's Candy Shoppe

Opie's Candy Shoppe is located just a few doors down from the Snappy Lunch. They have a lot of really neat old timey type candy. It's sold 5 bucks a pound which I thought was a good deal til I had to pay 8 bucks for 2 handfuls of candy, yikes! At least I got some cool looking candy wrappers out of the deal as well. I was very excited to see they had a candy called Squirrel Nut Zippers because I very fondly enjoy the band of the same name. I'm sure you will see why....

Next stop Floyd's Barber Shop!

And by the way, I'm over at the Swapatorium today serving up some broiled hideousness. Do stop by!

I totally have been loving the pictures you took on your trip. I want that bench you are sitting on with your son!! I found a glider love seat in that same material and design last year but don't know where to find it again. This one was in an awesome lemonade color.
Anyways looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip!! It has been enjoyable. I want to go there someday.
Have a good day,
Christina

I lived a couple of hours from there for most of my life and never visited. Now that I've seen your photos, I'm kicking myself.

BTW, I love the darling new "banner" artwork. Looks just like you!

Squirrel Nut Zippers! One of my all-time favorite bands, hands down! :)

I never ever realized how cool "Mayberry' is...i really want to visit now!

Have you heard BR5-49? They do a HILARIOUS naughty song called "Me and Opie (down by the duckpond)" that plays on my local college station sometimes. It cracks me up every time!
