Creature Christmas!

Pumpkinbutt decided that the Kitmiss (as he calls it) tree theme this year is going to be The Creature from the Black Lagoon! (I did kinda do some persuading)

He got this Creature around Halloween and loves him. He sleeps with him, dances with him, and today was feeding him a bowl of water.

And as odd as it may be, I find that the creature has got a really nice ass:

okay back to the tree... Since my newly acquired aluminum tree has red glass tips I wanted something green for contrast. That is when the creature came to mind. I printed out a number of posters and film stills from the movie along with images of the creature onto cardstock. I then trimmed the borders in red or green glitter.

I thought the French poster (seen bottom right) was pretty cool looking. Pumpkinbutt helped to make the topper by doing the "shake 'ems" aka glitter on it.

Well, darlin' - you did it again! You are the Queen of Kitsch, that's for sure. Who knew TCFTBL could be so festive?

I wanted a lot of my ornaments to be handmade in a somewhat similar manner...but I thought that it might not look right. I was glad to see your tree.

We are still working on setting up for ours...major furniture rearrangement to fit it in.

Our tree will be purple....lots of purple. I am told "purple" or "lilac" when I say this...I say purple is purple to me & for my purposes this will include lilace.

m -- hard to believe a creature with such a nice ass (although admittedly an unwholesome and unseemly shade of green) would be afflicted with centuries of passion pent up in his savage heart. But being brilliantly creature-featured on your wonderful tree has to make him feel a little better. Clever, clever girl.

Hey there! I love your tree. DH and I spent our courtin' days playing the Creature From The Black Lagoon pinball machine at an arcade near campus. I finally saved up enough to but the freaking machine for his 31st birthday, and it now sits in our game room surrounded by our Creature clock and switchplate cover. The kids are too scared to even WALK in the room, much less sit smiling in front of a Creature-covered tree! Pumpkinbutt is a brave boy.

I truly admire your dedication to your craft--that tree had to be time consuming. Way to go!!

I would suggest printing out posters and other related items onto Shrinky plastic made for computers, adding a hole punch, then baking, then adding a tie or hook of some kind for hanging--then you have something that may last longer than cardstock, or, ahem, get passed down through generations. Just think what the future heirs will say about you.
