Cauldron Cake

Many, many years ago (2006!) a fellow blogger sent me an Interesting Package that was full of all sorts of goodies and fun stuff.  Included in there was a recipe for a super cool cake that looked like a witch's cauldron.  All these years I have wanted to make it and finally did this year!

It's basically an upside down bunt cake with lots of sugary, gummy goodies bubbling up!

I went a little off road with what items I placed in the brew.  I did gummy teeth, brains, and worms.  Along with candy eyeballs, candy witch finger suckers, and sprinkles.  In the bottom pic I had forgotten to finish the pyre, oops! It's made from pretzel sticks, rods, and cut up bits of red twizzlers.

A little bonus in this post is the only new Halloween item I picked up this year is that gorgeously hideous vintage 90s rocking witch.  Unfortunately I can't get her to work but I love her even without her cackling "I'm going to get you my little sweetie.... heh..heh... heh...hehhhh!" with her green eyes flashing!

Surprisingly the recipe is still out in internetlands if you would like to make your own:

Truckin' 49

It's my last year in my 40s!

Gotta Keep on Truckin'! was my little birthday theme this year.

I am quite enamored with big boxy 18 wheelers and Halloween, and strawberry cake so I mashed it all together!

Just a big pink truck operated by a skeleton driving past a cemetery under a full moon!

I found the cake pan at a thrift for 3 bucks.

And here I am with a real truck that just so happened to be parked in front of a cemetery!

A Real Snow Day!

❄  ❅  ❆  ❄  ❅  ❆

For the last several years I have been celebrating a snow day here on MHiCTy even though I don't ever see snow because of living in the sunshine state.  I just pretend! But something got turned on it's head and Florida was New York this year.  I got 11 inches of snow at my house and it was so glorious!  It lasted for several days and I just loved it.  I absolutely embraced and appreciated it's once in a lifetime beauty every single day.  I loved watching it fall, how it would come to rest in the most interesting spots, it's blanketing effect, and how it highlighted everything elevating it from mundane to exquisite.

Here are a few views of the house, yard, and cutie cars:

PB made a snow angel.

The sugary Scion encrusted in glistening snow.

And the sugar baby Element snow laden in a wintery landscape.

Even though I was sad watching it all melt away I still enjoyed scenes such as this as it made the yard look like a washing machine had overflowed with suds!

With getting a once in a lifetime real snow day in Florida, with 11 inches of snow, I played out in it every day!

One of those days I spent carving out this snow baby Element!

Since we got a once in a lifetime snow day in Florida, I had to do all the stuff.
I made a little snow hobo!
